Regional Support Organisation

Cork City Partnership is one of four partnership organisations who have entered into an agreement with the Department of Justice and Equality to participate in the Development Phase of the Community Sponsorship Ireland Initiative by becoming a Regional Support Organisation (RSO). Every Community Sponsorship Group that is established must be aligned with an RSO, who will provide training and support to the Community Sponsorship group on a ongoing basis. The RSOs will also participate in the monitoring, evaluation and further development of the Community Sponsorship Programme.

During the Implementation phase of the programme (beginning in October 2019), prospective RSOs can apply to the Department of Justice and Equality in order to be approved as RSO’s under Community Sponsorship Ireland. Should they demonstrate adequate capacity, governance, resources / experience and expertise the can then enter into a formal agreement with the Department of Justice and Equality and begin the work of supporting their community support group.

The Cork Croí Fáilte Project  (CCFP) is a Community Sponsorship Group that has been established with the support of Cork City Partnership as RSO.  Cork City Partnership is providing ongoing support to the CCFP group as RSO, including education on the community sponsorship programme, assistance with the development of a re-settlement plan for the family etc.
