Cork City Partnership Events in Cork’s Life Long Learning Festival

Cork City Partnership is involved in a range of learning events next week to co-incide with Corks Lifelong Learning Festival 2014 (April 7th to Sunday 13th)

The week is packed with activities, exhibitions and a lot more! – we would like to encourage people to come along and get involved with these events – lets celebrate lifelong learning!

Monday 7th April

EXHIBITION OF ARTS, CRAFTS & PHOTOGRAPHS BY LOCALS – visit an exhibition of works by local artists and crafts people – the exhibition will take place from 9.30-5pm in Knocknaheeny Community Centre, Foyle Avenue.

CORK CITY PARTNERSHIP CITY WALKS EXHIBITION IN LEWIS GLUCKSMAN GALLERY, UCC – from 7th – 10th April. Enjoy an exhibition of Photographs developed by Community Digital Photography groups from the Glen, Knocknaheeny and Gurranabraher. The Exhibition is entitled City Walks and builds on local people’s reflections, experiences and views of the City of Cork.

Tuesday 8th April

WORKSHOPS ON DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND INTRODUCTION TO IPADS, TABLETS ETC, IN THE GLEN RESOURCE & SPORTS CENTRE. Places limited so booking is essental – contact Ronnie or Clare at 087 6755836

 

Wednesday 9th April

10AM COMMUNITY ART EXHIBITION in Blackpool Library

– Photography on display from the Glen, Knocknaheeny and Gurranabraher.

10.30 am WELL BEING AND STRESS MANAGEMENT CLASS in the Glen Resource & Sports Centre

A calming class that introduces people to the basic principles of wellbeing and some stress management techniques – begin to learn

OPEN MORNING 10AM – 12 Noon. An invitation to you to view the various art / craft activities and works created by local people and groups.Information on new courses and job search skills training opportunities. Friday 11th April

SIZE MATTERS ‘ ALCOHOL AWARENESS / INFO POD. Public information stand aiming to raise awareness of alcohol consumption guidelines and to reduce alcohol related harm through information & interaction with the public. Quizzes and interactive exercises. Information on supports and services available for individuals and families city wide along with further educational / training opportunities will be available.
