Cork City Partnership is delighted to engage with residents in the Lough and surrounding areas. On Tuesday, 30 May, we held an event in the Lough Community Centre ‘Hello Again World’ and we were delighted with the enthusiastic response from residents in the area.
Cork City Partnership’s Community Development programme is funded under The Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme (SICAP) meaning that the Partnership provides support to a wide range of community groups and individuals including older people, the unemployed, lone parents, and more.
SICAP Coordinator in Cork City Partnership Brenda Barry said: “We’re delighted that we have two Community Development workers in The Lough area who have both recently taken up employment with Cork City Partnership; we aim to continue providing support and assistance to the existing community and expand our work in this area. We’re also delighted to support any fledgling projects who are just getting off the ground.”
Community Workers Michael O’Donnell and Michelle Keane will be in the area speaking with residents, running events, assisting with our community education courses, and supporting community groups.
