Cork City Partnership is delighted to collaborate with Cork Migrant Centre to provide a hub and drop-in centre for International Protection Applicants. This is funded through SICAP.
This hub is based in Cork Migrant Centre at Nano Nagle Place, and it includes a range of direct supports to individuals and groups including:
- Adult education
- English Language Classes, Translation
- Employment supports through CCP SICAP
- Social activities
- Youth, Child and Family Activities
- Referral to other organisations
- Information provision
- Advocacy
- Volunteering opportunities
- Intercultural events
Throughout the year, the hub facilitated:
- Drop-in services and one-to-one support
- Community meetings, training sessions, and intercultural workshops
- Awareness-raising events on international protection and migration-related issues in the wider community
- Collaboration with local service providers through joint initiatives and shared best practices
Our Impact and Mission
Our mission remains to reduce the barriers International Protection Applicants face in accessing services and participating fully in community life. The hub team provides holistic, person-centred support, with a strong focus on health and well-being, education and language, social supports and community inclusion, employment readiness and support for families, children, and people with disabilities.
The hub continues to be a vital access point and safe space for individuals and families navigating the asylum process, while also strengthening our city’s commitment to inclusion, dignity, and shared community life.
