Cork City Partnership CLG are delighted to be the lead contractor implementing the new Local Area Employment Service (LAES)

The LAES is responsible for the provision of employment assistance and advice services to jobseekers in the Cork city and county area, to help them to enter or return to employment. The jobseekers in the service are primarily those who are long-term unemployed and farthest from the labour market.

We look forward to continuing to support individuals in our community on their journey to employment as part of a new Local Area Employment Service in Cork.

The LAES is committed to assisting unemployed people to progress towards employment by responding to their individual needs for training, education and access to employment opportunities.

Our supports focus on Long Term Unemployed People (more than one year out of employment) that are referred by the Department of Social Protection under the National Employment Action Plan.

Services Cork City LAES may be able to help you with

• Job search
• Job applications
• CV preparation
• Referral to CE
• Referral to education & training courses
• Technical skills training in applying for jobs online
• Access to IT facilities to pursue employment opportunities

These services are provided within community based locations in Cork city and county and is therefore able to provide a gateway for its clients to access other resources and links in the community.

Clients must be directly referred from the Department of Social Protection.
